The Current Power MSR-600-28 28V DC GPU is a compact ground power unit that is ideal for aircraft starting & servicing, powering of air conditioning & heating units, and battery charging. With easy to read volt and amp meters, these units are designed with the user in mind. The integrated Smart Current Limit button is a safe and easy way to set the maximum current without the use of complicated controls. The current limit button assures that the 28.5 volts will be maintained and that the current delivered during starting will not exceed aircraft specifications.

  • Heavy duty indoor/outdoor enclosure with baked powder coated finish, IP54 enclosure.
  • Four 9” (22cm) non-marking wheels with foot brakes provide a safe, stable design. Resistant to chemicals, water and steam, these wheels reject floor debris and have maximum weather resistance and low temperature flexibility.
  • Cable wrap/handlebar with welded gusset for strong, safe and easy movement from either side. Allows for 9” of neat and simple to use cable storage.

  • Exclusive patent pending push-to-set Smart Current Limit allows the user to set the exact desired current limit by pushing a button and rotating the current adjustment knob to the preferred current limit. The meter will display your exact setting while the button is held. You can then use the dial lock lever for added protection against accidental movement.
  • DC ON/OFF switch electronically controls clean power connection and disconnection to aircraft.
  • Hermetically sealed semiconductors (SCR) allow for long life in harsh environments.
  • Cooling fans are ball bearing type (rather than sleeve bearing type).

  • Pilot’s Edition Package: Pilots requested that the GPU maintain exactly 28.5 volts at the aircraft and not at the output terminals of the GPU, like all standard GPU’s. To accomplish this, we then used this as feedback to our regulator, thus providing exact regulation at the aircraft. But don’t be fooled by others with this feature. It requires a lot more than just a special aircraft cable; it requires that the GPU has the extra output voltage capability to make up for the loss of voltage in the cable, which only the Current Power GPU has. This also allows you to utilize a longer aircraft cable on the GPU if needed. The Pilot’s Edition has all the features of the standard MSR model plus this remote regulation ability and an extra foot brake to hold the GPU in place even under thrust of an engine.
